Isaac GolightlyBorn 2 May 1845 in Massac County, Illinois to, Isaac, also known as “Uncle Ike” was possibly the son of James Golightly and Cynthia Smith. He was a pioneer settler of Mississippi County, Missouri, farmer, and Civil War veteran. He married Martha Lett 30 Jul 1871 and from their union were children James A., Jesse Calvin (m. Florence Stewart & Farie Huey), William Hubbard (m. Irene Baugh), Mary Jane (m. Hugh Wilson), Fannie Mae (m. Leo Duvall), and Elizabeth (m. Homer Holland).

According to his obituary he was able to read without glasses at his advanced age, carried a cane but only held it out to jump over it and was still able to dance as if fifty years younger. He died 6 Dec 1935 at the age of 90. He was buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston, Missouri.
