Samuel Edward Blumer
b. Aug 1867, Cape Girardeau, Missouri
m. 10 Dec 1893, Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Belle Norris
d. 13 Nov 1928, Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Samuel Edward Blumer spent his life in Cape Girardeau and was fairly well known. He was born to Samuel Blumer of Switzerland and Missouri C. Masterson of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and had one sister, Columbia Jane.
He worked in his fair share of places throughout his adult life. He was a salesman, a shipping clerk for the rail industry, and a grocery clerk for Dempsey Grocer Co. Interestingly enough, in August 2019 during renovations on one of the buildings in downtown Cape revealed a Dempsey Grocer Co. mural on the side more clearly and hopes are that the mural will be preserved.
He and his wife Belle had several children: Susie, Edward, Hazel, James, and Winona. His death in 1928 was sudden, caused by a heart attack in the street near the Meyer-Albert Grocer Co. He was buried at Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
