I was born and raised in the Heartland with a love for photography, planning, and gaming. I snapped photos of everything from my friends to the barges that roamed regularly along the mighty Mississippi River.
Welcome to the monthly ancestral tribute! Genealogy has become a relatively new hobby and passion in recent years. I guess when you have kids, you start to take a more active interest in your lineage and family history. I wanted to start posting something at least once a month with regard to genealogy, and I’m starting with a personal family history mystery!
2018 was a hectic year. It began with a continuation of my journey to stop smoking, which was successful. I have been smoke-free for over a year now! There were of course the usual birthdays and holidays. My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. We bought a house (with delays – involving a two week hotel stay for myself, my mother, and the kids and roadtrips from Maryland to Missouri to Tennessee to Virginia!), and Big B started preschool! It’s been crazy!
This week’s subject is broadcasting. In my spare time, I stream on Twitch. Mostly it’s playing video games, but from time to time, I do stream photo editing. I use fairly inexpensive equipment, though I am eyeballing some gear for the future. Right now, being affiliated, I can earn some extra side revenue. Partnership is in the future if I work hard enough and continue to improve.
Hello! I’m back!
It has been a crazy month, but we are now in our new home in Virginia. Here is a rundown of the past thirty plus days!
I got to go for a ride on a steam train yesterday! I have only been on a scenic train ride one other time, as a kid when I rode with my family to see a Civil War reenactment. Yesterday’s ride was on a coal-fed steam train for a photography event. A two hour train ride and a couple of stops for us to get out, ready our cameras, and get some shots of the train. The scenery was lovely!
